    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana field hockey team has been recognized as a 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award honoree.

    The Hoosiers were honored for academic excellence in achieving a team grade point average of at least a 3.0.

    Indiana field hockey had nine student-athlete placed on the Big Ten All-Academic team.

    “We are so proud of the team for consistently working hard to pursue high achievement and academic excellence,” Indiana head coach Amy Robertson said. “We are honored to have representation and to receive this distinction from the NFHCA.  It is important to recognize the contribution from Eileen O’Rourke, our team’s academic advisor for all the work that she has done to help support the field hockey team’s academic progress and assist with reaching their academic potential.”

    The Hoosiers host their first spring competition on March 29 at 12:30 p.m. against Saint Louis.
