Field Hockey Falls to No. 22 Michigan State

East Lansing, Mich. – The Indiana field hockey team suffered a 3-0 setback on the road this afternoon at the hands of host No. 22 Michigan State. The Hoosiers now fall to 6-3 on the year and 0-2 in B1G play, while the Spartans improve to 6-5 (1-1 B1G).
Viki Green played 68:47 minutes, making four saves in her first loss of the season.
The Spartans struck first in the 19th minute on a rebound that deflected off of a save by Green and doubled its lead late in the 57th minute.
With the game winding down, IU pulled its goalkeeper in hopes of utilizing an extra body to seek its first goal, but the home team sent one through the empty net to register its third and final score of the contest.
Indiana will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Ball State. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
