    Weekend Preview: Hoosiers Continue Big Ten Play At Iowa

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team travel to Iowa City, Iowa to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday in its only game of the week. The Hoosiers are coming off a dominating 8-0 win over Missouri State in Columbus Ohio last weekend after dropping their Big Ten opener to Ohio State the day before.

    In the rout of Missouri State, sophomore forward Haley Funk scored three goals to become just the fourth Hoosier to post a hat trick. The last person to do it was current sophomore Alina Valenti last season against Lindenwood.

    SCOUTING IOWA
    The Hawkeyes enter the weekend ranked sixth in the latest STX/NFHCA Coaches Poll with an 8-2 overall record. They also opened Big Ten play last weekend with a loss, falling on the road at Michigan, 3-2 in double overtime.

    Lauren Pfeiffer leads the Hawkeye offense with eight goals while Roz Ellis has six goals to her credit this season. Caroline Blaum leads the team with seven assists and Tricia Dean has five.

    In goal, Lissa Munley has given up just 13 goals this season, good for a 1.28 goals against average and has four shutouts to her credit.

    The game will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa.
