    WELCOMING THE WOLVERINES
The Indiana field hockey team will welcome No. 15 Michigan this Friday, Oct. 18 at the IUFH Complex at 4 p.m. ET. The Wolverines invade Bloomington with an 8-5 overall record and an even 2-2 mark in conference games.

Friday's matchup will be the 14th meeting between the two squads with U-M holding a 3-10 advantage in the all-time series. The Hoosiers last faced Michigan on Oct. 28, 2011 in a 4-2 loss in Ann Arbor, Mich.

    A LOOK AT VILLANOVA
Indiana will face Villanova for just the third time in program history this Sunday, Oct. 21 in a Noon contest at the IUFH Complex. The Wildcats are currently 6-9 on the year with a 1-2 record in the Big East.

The Hoosiers are 2-0 against the Wildcats with wins in both the 2002 and 2010 campaigns.

    LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers went 1-1 last weekend, picking up a 4-2 win over Central Michigan on Oct. 13 after dropping a 4-0  contest at No. 9 Northwestern on Friday, Oct. 12.

At Northwestern, IU was outshot 14-5 in the contest, firing one lone attempt on goal. Emily Bowker, Audra Heilman, Mariella Grote and Morgan Fleetwood each tallied a shot against NU, with Bowker serving as the lone Hoosier to direct one at the net. Viki Green played all 70 minutes in goal and made six saves in the loss.

The Hoosiers regrouped and closed out the weekend with a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over Central Michigan. After facing a 2-1 deficit through the first half, Indiana scored three unanswered in the final 35 minutes of regulation to secure the win. Four separate Hoosiers netted goals in the contest, as Morgan Fleetwood, Mariella Grote, Rachel Stauffer and Gaby Olshemski each put one through the posts. Fleetwood also earned two assists.

    CAREER FIRSTS
Several career firsts have been reached throughout the 2012 campaign. A handful of Hoosiers have scored their first career goals this season. Hannah Boyer (Sept. 9 vs. Ohio), Rachel Stauffer (Sept. 23 at Lock Haven) and Sydney Supica (Sept. 30 at Ball State) each netted career firsts. On the defensive end, Supica registered her first career defensive save against Iowa (Oct. 5). Viki Green recorded her first career shutout against Vermont on August 26 to help the Hoosiers to a 3-0 road victory. Her complete game shutout was also the first since Becky Pany achieved the feat when IU blanked UC Davis, 1-0, on Oct. 9, 2010.

    NEARING CAREER MILESTONES
Morgan Fleetwood is approaching several milestones in her career numbers through this season and could potentially move atop several offensive catagories after this weekend. She currently sits in second all-time for career goals with 40, just one goal short of Lydia Schrott's (2003-'06) 41 career goals. Fleetwood's 13 game-winning goals is also one short of second-best in the all-time career records, as Schrott's 14 also tops the list. With 101 career points, Fleetwood is just three shy of tying the all-time best total of 104 also held by Schrott.
