IU 8th After Day 1 of Central District Invitational

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - The Indiana women's golf team currently sits in eighth place with a two-round score of 584 at the Central District Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

The Hoosier women posted rounds of 288 and 296 to sit at +8. UCF leads the field with a 15-under score of 561, with Vanderbilt (563), Michigan State (566), SMU (575) and Louisville (579) rounding out the top five.
Sophomore Marissa DeCola leads IU and is tied for 18th with a 144 (71-73). DeCola was -1 after the first round with a 71. She tied for a team-best four birdies in the round, going -1 on the back nine. She added two more birdies on the back nine in round two and is -2 for the tournament on the par-4 14th hole.
Freshman Ana Sanjuan is tied for 21st, one stroke behind DeCola at 145 (71-74). Sanjuan was also at one under after 18 holes, with just one bogey on the round on the par-4 third hole. She had 14 holes of par or better in round two, including birdies on one and 17.
Junior Elizabeth Tong is +3 for the tournament after rounds of 74 and 73 (147). Tong shot a 2-over 74 in round one, with birdies o the par-5 12th hole and par-5 18th hole.
Junior Sarah Dusman carded rounds of 73 and 76 and is tied for 36th with a 149. Dusman was one over after round one, posting three of her four birdies on the back nine. While holes one and four tripped up Dusman with bogeys in both rounds, she had a solid effort in round two on the front nine with birdies on two, three and five.
Sophomore Maria Mancini is tied for 50th at 151 (73-78). Mancini was +1 for the first 18 holes but was tied for second on the team in the round with three birdies. She added a birdie to her tally on the 18th hole in round two but saw her score rise with double bogeys on two and 16.
