Hoosiers 12th at Briar's Creek Invitational

ST. JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. - The Indiana University women's golf team sits in 12th place with a score of 615 (310-305) after two rounds of the Briar's Creek Invitational at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek in John's Island, S.C.
Augusta leads the field with a score of 596, with East Carolina (600), Clemson (601), Texas Tech (602) and East Tennessee State and Penn State (603) rounding out the top five. Play concludes Tuesday with an 18-hole round.
"I am really pleased with the team and how they rebounded in the second round," said head coach Clint Wallman. "They were solid in that second round, especially with great play from Ana and Camille, as well as Elizabeth. We are looking forward to getting back on the course tomorrow.
Playing in the No. 4 spot, sophomore Camille Chevalier leads the Hoosiers, tied for 19th with a score of 150. Chevalier led the Hoosiers in round one with a 3-over 75 and matched that tally with her second-round effort.
Freshman Ana Sanjuan is tied for 30th with a score of 152. Sanjuan was tied for 42nd after the first round with a 6-over 78. She made her way up the leaderboard after carding the low round of the day for IU with a 2-over 74 in the second 18 holes.
Junior Elizabeth Tong is three strokes back, tied for 38th with a 155. Tong carded a 79 in the first round, and improved by three strokes in round two with a 4-over 76.
Sophomore Marissa DeCola is tied for 62nd. DeCola was tied with Sanjuan after round one, posting a 78. Her second-round tally of 82 put her at 160 for the day.
Junior Kamryn Klawitter is two strokes back from DeCola, tied for 67th. Klawitter posted an 82 for her first-round score and came back stronger in round two with an 80.
Playing as individuals, Sarah Dusman is tied for 82nd, Maria Mancini tied for 85th and Theresa-Ann Jedra is tied for 91st. Dusman tallied an 80 in the first round, with Mancini and 85 and Jedra and 89. Dusman posted an 87 in round two, with Mancini and 84 and Jedra an 87.
