Women's Golf Opens Spring at Central District Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University women's golf team opens the spring portion of its 2013-14 schedule Feb. 17-18 at the Central District Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University at the Lakewood Ranch Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
All eight members of the team have traveled to Florida, with Ana Sanjuan, Elizabeth Tong, Maria Mancini, Marissa DeCola and Sarah Dusman competing for IU. Camille Chevalier will play as an individual.
In addition to the host Spartans, the field includes Houston, Louisville, Minnesota, Oakland, Penn State, Rutgers, SMU, Toledo, UCF, Chattanooga, UNC Greensboro and Vanderbilt. The teams will play 36 holes with a shotgun start on Feb. 17, followed by a final 18-hole round on Feb. 18.

. Sanjuan finished the fall season leading the team in stroke average at 75.63, with three top-25 finishes and one top-10 finish. Tong also played all 11 rounds this fall, posting a stroke average of 77.00 with a pair of top-25 showings.
DeCola, who played just five rounds in the fall due to injury, is back and will also be in the hunt for playing time, posting a top-25 finish at the IU Kickoff in September. A new face in the lineup is Chevalier, who sat out the fall campaign after coming to IU from Aix-Marseille University in France.
