    Rowing Ends Year Ranked No. 11

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana Rowing team ended the year ranked No. 11 in the final CRCA/USRowing Coaches poll, which was released on June 4.

    IU spent the majority of the season ranked at No. 13 heading into the postseason. The Hoosiers finished 11th at the 2014 NCAA Rowing Championships after placing fourth at the Big Ten Championships. Both the First Varsity 8 and the Second Varsity 8 boats took the bronze, becoming just the second crews to ever medal at the conference championship.

    Head Coach Steve Peterson was named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Central Region Coach of the Year, while the entire staff earned CRCA Central Region Staff of the Year. Freshman Alice Wright was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, becoming the first Hoosier to earn an individual award from the Big Ten in program history. Junior Meradith Dickensheets was named a First Team All-Big Ten honoree, while Wright and junior Karly Kikkert earned second team honors from the league.

    Peterson is now eligible for CRCA Division I Coach of the Year and the staff is eligible for Division I Staff of the Year, which will be announced on June 9.
