Was a four-year letterwinner for head coach Megan Kolze at Lake Zurich High School ... also earned four letters in soccer and two in volleyball ... received all-conference honors each of her final three seasons ... garnered all-section and all-area accolades as a senior in 2011 ... started on varsity as a sophomore and was in the starting lineup for every game through her senior year ... led her club team (Ela Elite) to state three consecutive seasons ... won the state tournament with her U18 team and played up and won the U23 state crown in 2011 ... while playing with the Ela Elite team in 2009, she was coached by former IU men's soccer All-American Robert Meschbach ... she was named to her high school honor roll all four years and was a member of the National Honor Society ... the daughter of Patti and Jason Arends ... she has an older brother, Matt, who also attends IU, and a younger brother, Jack ... currently undecided on a major.
