YPSILANTI, Mich. - For the second time in as many games to start the 2014 season, the Indiana women's soccer team (1-1) outshot its opponent by a significant margin, but this time they came up short in a 2-0 loss at Eastern Michigan on Sunday afternoon.

The Hoosiers held a 24-8 edge in shots for the game - including a 15-3 margin in the second half alone - but the Eagles (2-0) took advantage of their opportunities to get the win. In Friday's game against Indiana State, the Hoosiers outshot the Sycamores, 19-8.

"Give Eastern Michigan a ton of credit, they fought hard the entire 90 minutes," Indiana head coach Amy Berbary said, "and their goalkeeper was tremendous today. We knew that our effort and execution needed to be at a high level today. Unfortunately, we lost that for a portion of the game and EMU took advantage with a couple of quick goals."

Redshirt junior Sarah Stone made two saves in goal for IU while Megan McCabe was the star in goal for Eastern Michigan, making five saves and all of them against a dangerous Indiana attack.

The Eagles scored first at the 24:08 mark in the first half and then found the back of the net again on a counter attack just 55 seconds later.

With less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half, freshman Mykayla Brown's header was on-goal but McCabe was up to the task to make the save.

In the second half, the Hoosiers put the pressure on the EMU goal early and often. In the 56th minute, Jordan Woolum's shot hit the bottom side of the crossbar and somehow stayed out of the goal. Brown was there for the rebound shot but her shot was blocked by a EMU defender.

Then in the 64th minute, Jessie Bujouves' header was saved by McCabe as was another Bujouves header in the 82nd minute.

Next up on the schedule for Indiana is a trip to Auburn, Ala., for the Auburn Soccer Classic. The Hoosiers will play Georgia Southern on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and then UC Irvine on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will feature FREE live streaming audio with Adam Cohen.
