BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The St. John's Red Storm scored a pair of goals in just over three minutes in the second half on their way to a 2-1 win over the No. 12/25 Hoosiers on Sunday. The loss ends Indiana's (6-1-0) school record start to the season and its nine-game winning streak overall dating back to the end of the 2008 season.

We played very well in the first half and had a lot of good chances but were not able to convert," Indiana head coach Mick Lyon said. "If you don't take advantage of your opportunities, it can always come back to get you and today that's what happened. But St. John's really upped their game in the second half an played very well."

Indiana took control of the game early, with Chloe McKay and Orianica Velasquez Herrera both recorded shots in the first ten minutes of play. It would be McKay that would break through with her first goal of the season at the 10:33 mark when she intercepted a pass by the St. John's keeper and fired a shot on goal from 25 yards out that went through the keeper's hands to give IU a 1-0 lead.

The Hoosiers outshot the Red Storm 9-5 in the first half and controlled play with quality scoring chances throughout the half, including a pair of corner kicks in the closing minutes of the half.

In the second half, it was St. John's that came out determined on its home field. Neither team was able to mount any scoring chances in the early part of the second half. Then in the 73rd minute C.J. Ludemann scored her second goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Just three minutes later the Red Storm struck again as Sarah McGrath scored her first goal of the season with the assist coming from Ludemann.

Lindsay Campbell made three saves in the game for IU in suffering her first loss in goal since Oct. 12, 2008 at Northwestern.

Indiana will return to action this week for a pair of home games, starting with a match against Butler on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and followed by a Friday night meeting with Green Bay, also starting at 7:30 p.m.
