    HOOSIERS TRAVEL TO MISSOURI TOURNAMENT

    GAME INFORMATION: The Hoosiers (0-1-0) play in the Missouri Tournament in Columbia, Mo. September 3 and 5. IU opens the weekend with Missouri (1-1-0) at 4 p.m. Friday and finishes with a battle against Vanderbilt (1-1-0), Sunday at 11 a.m.

    THE SERIES: The Hoosiers lead Vanderbilt 1-0 all-time. The previous meeting was in Bloomington at Bill Armstrong Stadium October 9, 1993. IU and Missouri are even with one win each. Indiana took the first meeting in Bloomington October 4, 1996, and lost3-2 in the second meeting at the Irish Key Bank Classic at Notre Dame September 27, 1998.

    HEAD COACH JOE KELLEY... is in his seventh season as the Indiana head coach. He has an overall record of 64-55-2 (.540) and 18-18-1 (.500) in Big Ten play. Kelley has led the Hoosiers to the 1996 Big Ten Tournament Championship and trips to the NCAA Tournament in 1996 and 1998.

    TOP NOTCH RECRUITS: IU's freshman class was ranked 20th nationally and third in the Great Lakes Region by soccerbuzz.com, a web site devoted to women's soccer.

    FAMILY FEUD: IU sophomore forward Kelly Kram is the younger sister of Missouri senior back Jennifer Kram.

    COUNTDOWN TO 100: Tracy Grose needs just 31 points to become the first IU player to reach 100 career points.

    OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: Emily Etzkorn and Tracy Grose are the captains for 1999.

    NOT WASTING ANY TIME: IU freshman Jenny Mann scored in her first collegiate game. Mann found the net from 25 yards out in the 60th minute at Xavier August 28.

    DEFENDING HOME TURF: The Hoosiers have a nine-game winning streak at Bill Armstrong record and could tie the school record at 10 with a win over Saint Louis September 12.

    YOUNG GUNS: The Hoosiers started three freshman and played five in the opener at Xavier. Kate Kastl, Jenny Mann, and Emily Markwell started while Jessie Rabin and Lisa Tecklenburg played as reserves.

    ALLWAYS IN THE LINEUP: Wendy Graves and Kendal Willis have played in 44 consecutive games which ties them for ninth on the IU all-time list. They need just two more to move into eighth. Willis and Graves are also in the top ten in consecutive starts. Willis is fifth at 41 and Graves is sixth at 34. Willis needs just two more to move into third all-time.

    FEELING HOMESICK: IU opens the season with four games away from home and plays 11 games outside Bill Armstrong Stadium. The four-game road trip is the longest ever to start a season.

    CHALLENGING SCHEDULE: The Hoosiers play eight games against 1998 NCAA Tournament teams, including five opponents in Big Ten play. The opponents are Xavier, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Penn State, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame.

    RIVALRY BEGINS: The IU-Purdue rivalry enters women's soccer this fall. The teams meet for the first time in the regular season as the Hoosiers host the Boilermakers Friday October 22 at 7 p.m.

    ASHLEY DAVIS: recorded three saves at Xavier.

    EMILY ETZKORN: took two shote at Xavier.

    TRACY GROSE: fired five shots in the season opener at Xavier.

    KATE KASTL: shot twice in the opener at Xavier.

    JENNY MANN: took two shots and scored her first collegiate goal at Xavier.

    LISA TECKLENBURG: shot once at Xavier.
