    Grodek Receives Another Award

    NEW YORK - Indiana senior Kim Grodek was named to the Soccer Buzz 2004 Great Lakes All-Region first team on Thursday, Jan. 6. The Great Lakes Region is comprised of 54 schools. The team was decided by a vote open to all Division 1 Head Coaches and the Soccer Buzz staff.

    Grodek, the lone senior on the year for Indiana, receives the honor for the second straight year after leading the Hoosiers with 22 points and nine goals on the season. She was also second on the squad with four assists.

    The Barrington, Ill., native is the first player in the history of IU women's soccer to earn the award twice. Grodek, a two-time first team All-Big Ten performer was a four-year starter for the Hoosiers and finished her career with 74 appearances, including 69 career starts. Both stand at fifth most in Indiana history. She is also IU's career leader in Big Ten goals with 12 and second with 25 conference points, and, overall stands in fourth place in school history with 26 goals and 58 points.

    In her final season, Grodek has garnered first team All-Big Ten accolades as well as a selection to the 2004 Great Lakes All-Region Division I women's soccer team by the NSCAA.
