Bloomington, Ind. - The Indiana womens soccer program has announced its schedule for the 2003 spring season.
The Hoosiers kick off their spring games by hosting an indoor tournament in Mellencamp Pavillion on Feb. 22, 2003. Teams slated to participate include Carmel Commotion, DSA Club, Team Chicago Club, Louisville and the Memphis Soccer Club.
This marks the first spring season at IU for head coach Mick Lyon who took over the womens soccer program in July of 2002, becoming just the second leader in the history of Hoosier womens soccer.
Under Lyons guidance, the Hoosiers made their first postseason appearance since 1998. Indiana finished the 2002 season with a 10-7-2 record, the best finish since the 1998 season.
With a strong spring schedule, IU looks to improve upon its 2002 accomplishments.
In addition to the indoor tournament, Indiana will host Dayton on April 6 at 2 p.m. and then travel to St. Louis where the Hoosiers will square off against Missouri at 7 p.m. on April 11. The following day the team will face Ball State in Indianapolis. The current, final game on the spring schedule is set for April 19 when the Hoosiers host Cincinnati at 7 p.m.
