Bloomington, Ind. - The Indiana womens soccer team, under the direction of a first-year coaching staff, is preparing to announce its recruiting class of 2003.
Head coach Mick Lyon and assistants Ian Rickerby and Sara Kloosterman are looking forward to the 2003 season when they will mesh a group of talented returners with stellar incoming players.
Were extremely excited to announce this recruiting class, said Lyon. As a team in 2002, we made great strides. With the expected talent of this years incoming class it will be a great year for Indiana womens soccer.
The Hoosiers ended the 2002 season with a 10-7-2 record and the first post-season appearance since 1998. Despite an early exit from the Big Ten Tournament in a 1-0 overtime loss to in-state rival Purdue, IU is optimistic for more success in 2003.
The national letter of intent signing date for soccer is Wednesday, February 5, 2003. When the letters are signed and there is an official commitment, a release will be posted on iuhoosiers.com to announce the crop of incoming talent.
