Feb. 5, 2014
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University Women's Soccer head coach Amy Berbary announced the Hoosiers 2014 signing class on Wednesday. There were a total of nine players signing NLI's to play for the Hoosiers, including two from Indiana, one from Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida in addition to one each from Canada and Guatemala.
"Hoosier fans should be very excited about the new talent coming to Bloomington," Berbary said. "This class has instant impact potential and gives us a large amount of depth after losing six starters due to graduation. We are thrilled to see these nine athletic and versatile players join our returning group and help build on the success of the 2013 campaign."
Here's a quick look at the signees, in the order that their NLI's were received:
The Hoosiers went 15-7-1 overall and 6-5 in the Big Ten in 2013, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. They also made the program's first appearance in the Big Ten Tournament since 2007, advancing to the semifinals. The 15 victories set a new school record for wins in a season and the team also set new program marks for goals scored, assists and shutouts in a season.
