Signee Profile - Gina Daniele

Over the next few weeks, IUHoosiers.com will be bringing you profiles of the players that signed with the Indiana women's soccer team in early February. The profile for Monday, Feb. 25, is of Columbus, Ohio, native Gina Daniele.
Gina Daniele joins the Hoosiers after she played four years of varsity soccer at Bishop Watterson. The Columbus, Ohio, native netted 13 goals and nine assists as a senior.
With her senior year performance, Daniele earned first team all-Central Catholic League honors and was also named second team all-district and Most Offensive Player. That season, she helped Watterson to finish as runner-up in its district.
"Gina is a future all-star because she has that understanding of the game that is both crafty and seldom seen enough," head coach Mike Lyon said. "While Gina has been hampered by injury, when she has played fit she possess the flair to change a game and will become a dangerous player for IU. Every coach likes a player who will work hard, wants to get better and has the skill to be a difference maker - that's Gina Daniele."
With the help of the Columbus native, Watterson won 2005 and 2006 CCL Championships. The midfielder scored two goals and three assists as a sophomore and three goals and three assists as a freshman. She also played on the Ohio Olympic Development Program team from 2003-05.
Daniele has two brothers, John and Nick, both of which are members of the men's soccer team at Marshall. The daughter of Martin and Paula Daniele intends to major in French or marketing at Indiana and was born on June 15, 1990.
