BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's soccer team went undefeated in its opening weekend, dropping IUPUI 4-1 and earning a 0-0 tie with Kentucky on Saturday. Both games were played in Mellencamp Pavilion as the first spring games for all three teams.
IU opened the Saturday contests with a win over the Jaguars, as four different Hoosiers scored in the win. Kerri Krawczak scored on a header, and Chloe McKay, Kristin Arnold and Carly Samp each added tallies as the Hoosiers ran away with the victory.
In the second contest, the Hoosiers and Wildcats battled to a scoreless tie. All three Hoosier keepers - Lindsay Campbell, Lex Dickison and Lauren Hollandsworth played in both contests, and split the shutout against UK. IUPUI bested Kentucky 3-2 in the other contest.
The Hoosiers will resume their spring schedule on Sunday, March 29, when they take to the pitch on Yeagley Field at Armstrong Stadium against Iowa State. The Cyclones are coached by Wendy Dillinger - Indiana's all-time leading scorer. Game time is set for 11:30 a.m.
