Road Trip Yields a Win and Tie on Spring Slate
April 6, 2013
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Indiana women's soccer team traveled to the state of Ohio on Saturday for a pair of games and came away 1-0-1. They topped Miami (Ohio) by a score of 2-1 and then traveled to Xavier and played to a 0-0 draw.
With those two results, IU improves to 2-0-1 on it's Spring schedule as they prepare to take on a very strong Louisville team this Friday in Louisville starting at 7 p.m. ET.
In the first game on Saturday, the Hoosiers jumped out in front of Miami in the 32nd minute when Bekah White found the back of the goal. A free kick from 25 yards out was served into the box and Jessie Bujouves settled it before passing it back to White who took it from there.
After the RedHawks tied the game at 1-1 in the 55th minute, the Hoosiers got the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute. Lisa Nouanesengsy dribbled the ball into the box and was taken down and awarded a PK, which she promptly drilled to the leftside of the goal putting IU on top 2-1 for good.
In game two at Xavier, neither team was able to find the back of the goal but the Hoosiers had plenty of chances. Indiana controlled possession and created corner kick opportunities while also hitting the cross bar with a pair of shots.
