Women's Soccer Cancels Canadian Match
July 25, 2005
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Head women's soccer coach Mick Lyon announced the cancellation of the match against the Canadian National Team, which was formerly planned for August 15 at Yeagley Field at Armstrong Stadium. The cancellation is due to scheduling conflicts for both teams, which coach Lyon hopes can be remedied so that they can play in the spring.
"We are disappointed that we are not able to play the Canadian National Team as an exhibition match for the fall season," Lyon said. "It will be beneficial to play the national team, whether it be in the fall or spring, so I hope that if scheduling permits, we can reschedule the match for 2006."
The women's soccer team will open the 2005 campaign with exhibition matches against Memphis on Fri., Aug. 19, at 7 p.m., followed by Valparaiso on Sun., Aug. 21, at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Stadium.
