    INDIANA TAMES JAGUARS, 9-0

Bloomington, Ind. -- Three Hoosiers scored at least two goals as the Indiana University women's soccer team made it 2-0 with a 9-0 victory over the IUPUI Jaguars (0-3) at Bill Armstrong Stadium Sunday evening.

Senior forward Kris Fosdick led the Hoosiers all the way. She is only the third player in IU women's soccer history to score three goals in one night. Besides the hat trick, Fosdick had two assists. The eight point performance broke the old record of seven points in a single game by Wendy Dillinger against Northwestern in 1994.

"I really had no idea about the record, said Fosdick. "This is the best our team has started in the five years I've been here. I just want to keep winning games."

"Fosdick really deserves this," said IU coach Joe Kelley. "She is a force for us in every game we play."

Junior forward Tracy Grose and freshman midfielder Kelly Kram each added two goals for the Hoosiers. The nine goals ties the single game mark for IU. The Hoosiers defeated Temple 9-0 to start the 1997 season.

"I was not real happy with the effort in the first half," said IU coach Joe Kelley. "We can't come out and give teams 10 minutes before we decide to play."

"We got a great effort out of a lot of our reserves," said Kelley. "It's nice to have this kind of depth. We can substitute several players without a drop off in the level of play."

Indiana's next game is at home versus Wright State on Friday September 11 at 7 p.m.
