    HOOSIERS LOSE TOUGH GAME AT #8 PENN STATE

    State College, Penn. -- The Indiana women's soccer team lost a tough 2-1 battle to #8 Penn State at Jeffrey Field Friday.

    The Hoosiers (4-1, 0-1 Big Ten) battled tough, but came up short. Penn State (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) scored at the 18:04 mark and again 20 minutes later to enter the locker room with a 2-0 lead.

    Indiana stepped up the pressure in the second half. IU junior forward Tracy Grose put the Hoosiers on the board at the 68:38 mark. Junior forward Carrie Watts passed the ball to Grose on the left side and Grose put it in off the left post.

    Grose has scored in all five Hoosier contests and has four goals. With the assist, Watts now has four on the year.

    Next home game: The Hoosiers host Big Ten foe Ohio State Sunday September 20 at 1:30 p.m.
