    HOOSIERS LOSE AT MICHIGAN

Ann Arbor, Michigan -- The IU women's soccer team lost 3-0 at Michigan Friday afternoon.

The Hoosiers (2-5-3, 1-2-2 Big Ten) fell behind 2-0 late in the first half and gave up a third goal in the final minute as Laurie Peterson found the net for the Wolverines (7-2-1, 4-0-1).

IU goalkeeper Ashley Davis stopped nine of the 24 Michigan shots, but had very little chance to stop the three that got away. The Hoosiers countered with 11 attempts, eight of which came in the second half. Senior Tracy Grose led IU with three shots as she moves closer to the school career shots record. Grose is at 179 and the record of 213 is held by assistant coach Wendy Dillinger (1993-97).

Michigan took the lead in the 27th minute as Mari Hoff scored for the third time this season. Ten minutes later Amber Berendowsky found the net off a pass from Kacy Beitel to give the Wolverines a 2-0 margin at the break.

The Hoosiers next game is against Butler at Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis Tuesday October 5 at 7 p.m.
