    No. 28 HOOSIERS BLANK ILLINI, 2-0

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ? The 28th-ranked Indiana women?s soccer team (8-4, 3-2) returned to form as they handed Illinois (4-6, 0-5) their fifth consecutive loss today at Armstrong Stadium. Wendy Dillinger opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game with a 12 yard shot past the keeper from Sanne Knudsen. Three and a half minutes later, Knudsen added her own goal off a Wendy Graves pass.

    Dillinger led the way with six shots, and Knudsen recorded five, including two point blank shots. In addition to just outshooting the Illini, the Hoosiers were able to open the game up a bit as several players had breakaway chances.

    Indiana was also played tough defense, allowing Illinois just three shots with Merit Elzey recording two saves and Azure Johnson adding a defensive save.

    Indiana's next game is against No. 23 Penn State Friday, October 10 at 7:30 pm.
