Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana junior forward Tracy Grose was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for October 5th and the Hoosiers moved into the Soccer News Top 25 for the second time this year at #24.
Grose, an All-Big Ten candidate, led the Hoosiers (7-3, 3-1 Big Ten) to wins over co-Big Ten leaders Wisconsin and #9 Northwestern this weekend. Both teams were undefeated in Big Ten play before meeting the Hoosiers.
Against Wisconsin, Grose assisted the opening goal just 47 seconds in. The Badgers had not given up a single goal in their first four conference games. Grose also scored in the second half as Indiana won 4-0.
Against Northwestern, Grose scored the game tying goal at 42:25 and the game-winner at 99:47 as Indiana won 2-1 in overtime. The loss was the first of the season for the Wildcats.
Grose has scored in nine of Indiana's 10 games and has at least one goal in eight of them. Grose was also named to the All-Tournament team at the Notre Dame Irish Key Bank Classic September 25-27.
