Minneapolis, Minnesota -- The IU women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Minnesota Friday evening.
The Gophers (6-5-0, 4-3-0 Big Ten) scored the game sealing goal in the 76th minute as Megan Johnson found the net beyond IU goalkeeper Ashley Davis. Johnson took five shots on the evening and teammate Laurie Seidl fired seven shots and scored Minnesota's first goal of the game in the 20th minute.
The Hoosiers (2-6-4, 1-3-2 Big Ten) were outshot 19-9 with senior Tracy Grose taking four shots for IU. Grose now has 189 career shots and 73 career shots in Big Ten play, which are both second on IU's all-time list. Indiana assistant coach Wendy Dillinger holds the record in both categories at 213 and 74, respectively. Abby Ryan also took two shots for IU and Wendy Graves, Stacey Peterson, and Carrie Watts each fired once.
The Hoosiers play at Wisconsin Sunday at 1 p.m. then return home to host Illinois Friday October 15 at 7 p.m.
