Ann Arbor, Mich. -- The Indiana women's soccer team dropped its second conference game at Michigan 2-0 Friday.
The Hoosiers (7-4, 3-2 Big Ten) were shutout for the second time this season (#2 Notre Dame) as the Wolverines (8-3-1, 3-3-1 Big Ten) stymied the aggressive Indiana offense.
Kacy Beitel scored Michigan's first goal in the 15th minute and Amber Berendowsky scored the second goal for the Wolverines with 11 minutes to play.
Indiana's strong defense gave up 16 shots. IU junior goalkeeper Ashley Davis had eight saves on the evening.
Indiana did get a few opportunities to score. Senior forward Kris Fosdick and junior forward Abby Ryan managed two shots each. Four others, including All-Big Ten candidate junior forward Tracy Grose, had one shot each.
Next game: The Hoosiers play at Michigan State Sunday at 1 p.m.
Next home game: Indiana hosts Iowa Sunday October 18th at noon.
