    HOOSIERS FALL TO NO. 12 MINNESOTA

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Hoosiers (8-5, 3-3) dropped a tough, physical game against the No. 12 Minnesota Golden Gophers (11-1-1, 7-0) tonight at Armstrong Stadium. Minnesota tied a school record for fouls by the opponent with 24 and held Indiana without a corner kick as they defeated the Hoosiers 3-1.

    Minnesota scored their first two goals within 10 yards of the net and less than one minute apart, the second one coming off a corner kick. The Gophers posted one more score before the Hoosiers could find the back of the net.

    Wendy Dillinger lead the team in shots, as well as physical play, and scored Indiana's goal at the 68:51 mark on a direct kick from 20 yards out.

    Minnesota took 15 shots compared to Indiana's six, dropping the Hoosier's record to 1-4 when they are outshot by the opposition.

    The Hoosiers return to action on Sunday, October 12 for the final home game of the season against No. 13 Penn State at 12:00 pm. It is the first game of a doubleheader, with the men facing off against Evansville at 2:30 pm.
