Bloomington, Ind.—The Indiana women’s soccer team will make its sixth appearance in 10 years at the Big Ten Tournament in 2003. The tournament will be held on Thurs, Nov. 6- Sunday, Nov. 9, in Madison, Wisconsin. This is the second year in a row the Hoosiers have earned a spot to participate in the tournament. Seedings were released on Saturday, Oct. 25, and IU received a No. 6 seed.

The Hoosiers (7-8-1, 4-5-1) will face possibly its biggest rival in the Big Ten, the No. 3 seed, Purdue Boilermakers (10-3-3-, 6-2-2). The game will be played on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the McClimon Soccer Complex.

IU is coming off of a, 2-1, loss to Purdue on Friday night at home and has found itself in a similar situation to the 2002 season. The Hoosiers lost to Purdue in the last game of the regular season, 1-0. They then faced Purdue in the first round of the Big Ten tournament and lost a heartbreaker to the Boilers again, in overtime, 1-0. The Hoosier will look to reverse their fortunes on Nov. 6 in Madison.
