HOOSIERS CLOSE OUT SEASON WITH WIN AT KENTUCKY

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Indiana (11-8-0, 4-5) battled both Kentucky (8-11-1) and the weather before walking away with their second consecutive victory to close out the regular season. Ironically, it was the bad weather that helped the Hoosiers put away the Wildcats as a Kris Fosdick shot slid throught the keeper's hands for Indiana's first goal. Indiana added an insurance goal in the second half when Emily Etzkorn found the back of the net.

Merit Elzey earned the start and kept the Hoosiers in the game when she made an impressive diving save in the first half. With the bad conditions and the two-goal lead, Ashley Davis played a majority of the second half. Elzey recorded six saves, and Davis recorded one.

The win was head coach Joe Kelley's and the women's soccer program's 50th win.

Indiana's next game is against Northwestern at the Big Ten Tournament in Blaine, Minnesota on Friday, November 7 at 11:30 am.
