Bloomington, Ind. - The stage has been set and in the Hoosiers return to the Big Ten Tournament this season, they will face the Purdue Boilermakers at noon on Thursday, November 7 on the campus of Michigan State University.

Indiana lost a heartbreaking game 1-0 to the Boilermakers on October 25 in West Lafayette, Ind. in the final two and a half minutes of the game. The Hoosiers were consistent and determined against Purdue in that match, but the Boilermakers capitalized on a late scoring opportunity.

The Big Ten Tournament seedings pit the number six seed - Indiana - against the number three seed - Purdue. The Boilermakers fell to third in the conference with the 3-2 loss to Illinois Nov. 3. The Illini scored in the final 38 seconds of that game to take the win and earn a trip to the conference tournament.
Penn State clinched the regular season title earlier this season while the winner of the conference tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

With stiff competition in the Big Ten, the Hoosiers look to continue their storied season of success with a stellar run in the conference tournament. The Big Ten includes perennial powerhouse Penn State and the Nittany Lions have maintained a top 25 ranking throughout the season. Other Big Ten teams that have seen national rankings throughout the season include Michigan and Purdue. Illinois headed into the season ranked 23rd but slipped out of the national spotlight.

In other Big Ten action on Thursday, Michigan will face Ohio State in the first game of the tournament at 10 a.m. while Penn State will face Illinois at 3 p.m. and Michigan State and Wisconsin will battle at 6 p.m. The tournament will continue with the winners of these games on Friday, Nov. 8 with games beginning at 3 p.m. The championship game will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10.

The Hoosiers take with them a 10-6-2 overall record and a 4-4-2 mark in the conference. Complete coverage of the Big Ten Tournament can be found on iuhoosiers.com throughout the championship.
