Indiana Earns At-Large Bid To NCAA Tournament
Nov. 11, 2013
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's soccer team, led by first year head coach Amy Berbary, earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on Monday. The Hoosiers will host the DePaul Blue Demons at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
It will be the first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2007 for Indiana and the fourth appearance in program history (1996, 1998, 2007, 2013). In the three previous appearances, Indiana has posted a 2-3-1 record. Saturday's game will also be the third game that Indiana has played at Bill Armstrong Stadium in NCAA play.
"This is something that we have been striving for all season long, so for it to come true for us feels absolutely amazing," Berbary said. "I'm so proud of this team and this program and all that we have accomplished. Knowing that our season is not done yet is very exciting and we are looking forward to a great crowd to help us out on Saturday night."
The Hoosiers enter postseason with a 14-6-1 overall record and finished fourth place in the Big Ten Conference during the regular season.
DePaul (13-5-2) advanced to the finals of the BIG EAST Tournament last weekend and finished third in the conference during the regular season with a 5-3-1 record.
Tickets will go on sale at 12pm ET on Tuesday. At that time, you can call 1-866-487-7678 to place your order. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for students/youth. Anyone ages 3 and over must have a ticket to enter the game.
