    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana senior Kim Grodek was named to the 2004 Great Lakes All-Region Division I Women's Soccer second team as announced on Thursday, Dec. 16, by the NSCAA/adidas Committee. The Barrington, Ill., native garnered the honor for the second straight year, after she received first team accolades in 2003. She is the second player in the history of IU women's soccer to earn the award twice.

    Grodek, a two-time first team All-Big Ten performer, was the lone senior on the IU squad. The team co-captain was a four-year starter for the Hoosiers and finished her career with 74 appearances, including 69 career starts. Both stand at fifth most in Indiana history.

    She is IU's career leader in Big Ten goals with 12 and second with 25 conference points, and, overall,l stands in fourth place in school history with 26 goals and 58 points.

    The midfielder led the Hoosiers with five goals and an assist en route to winning the Milwaukee Cup, Aug. 28-29, to open the fall campaign. For her efforts, Grodek was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 30, and was selected to the Soccer Buzz Elite and Soccer America's Team of the Week.

    Grodek was also featured in 50th Anniversary edition of Sports Illustrated in the "Faces in the Crowd" section released on Sept. 24.
