The Indiana Hoosiers were only able to muster a pair of hits off Iowa starting pitcher Kayle Massey and the Hawkeyes took advantage of some miscues by the Hoosiers to hand IU a 10-0 loss in five innings at Pearl Field.

Coming off a dramatic win in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday at Iowa, the Hoosiers and Hawkeyes looked to be headed in the same direction in game two. But the Hawkeyes broke the second game open with four runs in the fifth inning to hand Indiana a 4-0 loss at Pearl Field.

The Indiana Hoosiers (24-23, 8-8 Big Ten) showed why the game of softball is a team game, as everyone contributed in some form and helped IU to the 1-0 win in nine innings against the Iowa Hawkeyes (21-24, 10-6 Big Ten) at Pearl Field. Kelsey Brannon had four hits for IU and Meaghan Murphy (11-10) tossed her second shutout of the season.

Junior Amanda Wagner and freshman Brianna Meyer were both recognized by the Big Ten Conference on Monday, taking home two of the three weekly awards handed out by the conference. Wagner was named the Player of the Week and Meyer was awarded the Freshman of the Week honor.
