    Morgan Melloh, the 2011 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year and IU single-season strikeout leader, sat down to talk about her busy summer schedule.

    SENIOR YEAR (2011) • Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team
    • Big Ten Pitcher of the Year (the first Hoosier to do so since Gina Ugo in 1996)

    • Named USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week on April 19, joining Mariangee Bogado (May 9, 2006) as the only IU pitchers to receive the award
    • Named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week four times (April 4, April 11, April 18, May 2), becoming the first IU pitcher to receive the award four times in one season
    • Holds the Indiana school record and Big Ten Conference record for strikeouts in a season (494)

    Transferred to Indiana from Fresno State for her senior year to be closer to her family ... appeared in 52 games as a pitcher and made 47 starts ... finished the season with a overall ERA of 1.64 and a record of 32-17 in the circle with one save ... posted 40 complete games and 13 shutouts ... registered a school-record 494 strikeouts, shattering the previous record of 370 set by Amy Unterbrink in 1986 ... also hit .312 on the year with two home runs, 13 RBI and seven runs scored ... had a .300 batting average in Big Ten play with a home run and 10 RBI ... led the Big Ten in opposing batting average, innings pitched, strikeouts, wins, appearances and games started ... pitched every inning of every game in Big Ten play (20 games, 1.07 ERA, 138.0 IP) opened the season with 12 strikeouts in a complete game loss to #2 Arizona ... picked up her first win as a Hoosiers by allowing two runs - one earned - on two hits and six strikeouts in a 10-2 win in five innings against Nevada ... pitched one inning of relief against Cal Poly and gave up one hit and did not strikeout a batter, the only appearance all season where she failed to record a strikeout ... gave up one run on two hits over 4.2 innings of relief work to get the win against UAB ... pitched a complete game and allowed one run on two hits against USF while striking out seven on her way to the win ... although she suffered the loss, she struck out 14 against #4 Florida, tying the season high for the Gators ... followed up the performance against UF with a 13-strikeout game against San Diego State the same day ... at the same tournament, had nine strikeouts against #14 California and 11 strikeouts against Loyola Marymount ... snapped a 11-game winning streak by Chattanooga with a two-hit, 13-strikeout performance ... allowed one run on three hits and 12 strikeouts in a win over James Madison ... went 4-0 and allowed two runs on eight hits in four games at the IU Classic and totaled 36 strikeouts ... posted 17 strikeouts in a seven inning complete game victory over Butler in game one of a doubleheader ... came back in game two against Butler to whiff 14 to pick up the win ... gave up just one hit and struck out 12 in the Big Ten opener to Minnesota ... posted 12 more strikeouts in the second game against Minnesota the next day to pick up the win ... led the Hoosiers to their first win in Ann Arbor, Mich., since 1993 in game two of a doubleheader against #2 Michigan ... she struck out 14 in eight innings and allowed just one earned run on four hits ... pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the first game at Penn State ... surrendered only two hits in the second game at Penn State in the Hoosiers 1-0 victory ... collected 15 strikeouts against Ohio State in game one of a doubleheader and then came back to allow two hits and record seven strikeouts in game two ... logged the save against Indiana State by coming on to pitch the final 2.1 innings and did not allow a hit ... set a career high with 21 strikeouts in a 4-3 IU victory in eight innings against Wisconsin ... pitched a gem against Ball State, giving up just two hits to go with 14 strikeouts, including the strikeout to break the previous school record for strikeouts in a season ... struck out 11 in both games at Michigan State to lead the Hoosiers to another series sweep on the road ... tossed a one-hitter in the first game at Illinois in addition to striking out 11 ... in game two, she allowed one run on three hits and 10 strikeouts ... Iowa managed just three total hits over the two games in Bloomington and struck out a combined 23 times ... in game two against the Hawkeyes, Melloh lost a no-hitter on a bloop single to center field with two outs in the seventh inning ... held the hard-hitting Northwestern lineup to just two hits and 13 strikeouts in the first game of the weekend, extending the Hoosiers winning streak to 15 games - the longest in the nation at the time ... gave up a run on four hits and 12 strikeouts at home against Purdue ... issued seven strikeouts as she tossed her 13th shutout of the season against Purdue on Senior Day ... pitched her seventh one-hitter of the season in the first game of the NCAA Regional in Columbia, Mo., against DePaul but the Hoosiers lost 2-1 on a wild pitch in the seventh inning - although she had 11 strikeouts in the contest ... saw the season come to an end against Illinois State at the Columbia Regional, when she gave up three runs on six hits and six strikeouts ... was named to the ASA/USA Softball National Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.

    JUNIOR YEAR (2010 - Fresno State)
    Preseason WAC Pitcher of the Year ... ASA Preseason Top 50 Watch List ... made 35 appearances including 22 starts in the circle ... tossed 14 complete games - five of which were shutouts ... also added two saves ... pitched a total of 161.1 innings ... finished the season with a 18-10 record and a 2.35 ERA (5th in WAC) in the circle ... ... registered 234 strikeouts, second-most in the WAC ... averaged 10.2 strikeouts per seven innings, the 18th best average in the NCAA and tops in the WAC ... her 18 wins were tied for third-most in the WAC ... named Second Team All-WAC ... logged 74 strikeouts in 50.0 innings pitched in conference play ... was named to the All-Decade team at Fresno State by fan voting ... tied for fourth in Fresno State history with 112 games started ... is second in FS history with 1138 career strikeouts ... her 147 appearances is tied for third all-time at Fresno State ... the 90 wins she accumulated is tied for fifth in school history ... is tied for eighth in complete games with 95 ... is seventh in innings pitched (841.0) ... is ninth in shutouts with 42 ... is third in saves with seven.

    SOPHOMRE YEAR (2009 - Fresno State)
