SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Indiana offense was able to get just four hits off Fresno State starting pitcher Morgan Melloh and suffered a 10-0 loss in five innings to the Bulldogs in the first game of the Campbell-Cartier Tournament on Friday. The tournament is being played at on the campus of San Diego State University.

The Hoosiers (0-1) had a good scoring chance in the second inning after freshman Brittany Devitt led off with an infield single and advance to third on a one-out single by Stephanie Pellerito. But Melloh came back to strikeout the next three batters to get out of the inning.

The Bulldogs (3-0) would get on the board in the bottom of the third inning on a bloop single to shallow left-center field, allowing the runner to score from third. They would go onto add three more in the inning to take a 4-0 lead, with all of the runs scoring with two outs.

Fresno State added two runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth, the final three coming on a home run by Caitlin Stiglich to invoke the 10-run rule.

Monica Wright (0-1) took the loss for IU, going 3.1 innings and allowing six runs on 10 hits. Jennifer Moore came on in relief to pitch the final 1.2 innings, giving up four runs on five hits with one strikeout.
