FULLERTON, Calif. - The Hoosiers (7-9) scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning but came up a run short in suffering a 4-3 loss to Oregon State (14-4) on Friday afternoon at the DeMarini Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton. The Indiana rally in the seventh inning started with a leadoff walk to Amanda Wagner, who moved to second on a groundout by Berenter. Gogreve stepped in a blasted a double to right field that allowed Wagner to score easily from second base to make it 4-1. After a strikeout, Samantha Heyman lifted a ball to right center field that carried over the right fielder's head for a triple to cut the OSU lead to 4-2. The first pitch to Breanna Saucedo was a wild pitch and Heyman slid safely into home to make it a one-run game.
After Paige Hall was brought in to relieve Marina Demore and face Saucedo. Hall worked the count even at 2-2 before Saucedo lifted a soft fly ball to center field for the final out of the game.
