TAMPA, Fla. - The offense for the Indiana softball team continued to search for a spark on Wednesday morning in a 4-0 loss to the Boston University Terriers at the USF Spring Break Tournament in Tampa, Fla. Just as it was in the game against George Mason earlier in the day, it was one inning that turned out to be the difference in the game, as the Terriers scored all four runs in the fourth inning.

Jennilee Huddleston was 2-for-3 to lead the Indiana (4-14) offense while Jennifer Glueckert and Sarah Padove also collected hits for the Hoosiers.

Indiana threatened in the first when Brittany Devitt reach on a Boston (5-8) error and Emily Bergeson followed with a walk to put a runner in scoring position with two outs. Huddleston then lifted a fly ball into foul territory in right field that was caught on a diving effort by the Terriers' Ellie Benson.

Junior pitcher Monica Wright got the start for Indiana and was perfect through the first three innings but the fourth inning was her undoing. A bunt single got things started for Boston and was followed by an infield single to put runners at the corner's with no outs. A stolen base and RBI single up the middle gave BU a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded, Wright walked in a run and hit a batter to force home the third run of the inning.

A sacrifice fly brought in the fourth run in the frame but also an end to the half inning. Glueckert caught the fly ball in right field and fired a bullet to the plate that was not in time to get the tagging runner, but Indiana freshman catcher Brittany Stein caught the Boston runner in between first and second. She threw down to second base being covered by Emily Bergeson, who forced the runner back to first while keeping an eye on the new runner at third base. That runner then broke for home and Bergeson threw back to Stein blocking the plate for the final out in the inning.

Wright (1-5) was the losing pitcher for Indiana by giving up four earned runs on just three hits and two walks in 4.0 innings. Freshman Sara Olson was brought in to start the fifth inning and she was outstanding in relief, surrendering two hits and striking out three in three scoreless innings.

IU will be off Thursday before returning to action in Clearwater, Fla., for the Under Armour Showcase on Friday against Florida International at 11 a.m.
