CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Ball State Cardinals got a pair of home runs from Jen Reifschneider to propel them to a 4-1 victory over the Hoosiers (2-18) on Saturday at the USF Under Armour Showcase in Clearwater, Fla. Jennifer Glueckert went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Indiana.

Coming off of their second win of the season earlier in the day, the Indiana Hoosiers once again looked to Ashley Hobbs (1-4) for a strong pitching performance. Earlier in the day, the senior allowed just one run in 6.2 innings of relief work to get the win against Hofstra. And she started out the game against Ball State just as she finished that earlier game, by sitting down the Ball State batters in order in each of the first three innings.

In the fourth inning, Ball State (8-11) finally broke into the hit column but Indiana catcher Brittany Stein eliminated the runner when they attempted to steal second base.

Then in the fifth inning, Reifschneider turned on an inside pitch and hit a ball that just cleared the fence down the right field line to give BSU a 2-0 lead. The Cardinals added their third run of the game later in the inning on a RBI single into center field by Kamilah Holle. Reifschneider struck again in the top of the seventh inning against Sara Olson, who had come on in relief. The home run by Reifschneider moved her into third place on the all-time home run list at Ball State.

Indiana was finally able to get a rally going against Ball State starting pitcher Elizabeth Milian in the seventh inning. The hot-hitting Kelli Ritchison singled to third base and then Stein followed with a bloop single down the left field line to put two runners on with one out. A passed ball allowed both runners to move into scoring position with two outs for Glueckert. The junior hit a sharp ground ball back up the middle that hit Milian's foot and rolled towards first base. Glueckert beat the throw at first to allow pinch runner Kristin King to score.

Hobbs suffered the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in 4.1 innings while striking out four. Olson came on and threw the final 2.2 innings and gave up one run on four hits with two strikeouts.

Indiana will play two games again on Sunday, taking on Florida International at 10 a.m. to close out play in the Under Armour Showcase. Then the Hoosiers will match-up with Loyola Marymount at 12 p.m. in the final game of the weekend.
