CLEARWATER, Fla. - Sophomore Samantha Berenter collected two hits, including her first home run of the season and freshman Breanna Saucedo laced a two-run triple to give the Hoosiers a 4-0 lead, but Radford (7-8) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth to hand Indiana the 6-4 loss. The game was played in Clearwater, Fla., as part of the USF Under Armour Showcase, hosted by the University of South Florida.

Berenter got things started for Indiana (6-13) in the top of the fourth inning with her first home run of the season, and second of her career, to give IU a 1-0 lead. And with the way junior pitcher Sara Olson was going in the circle, it looked like that might be enough. She had not allowed a hit through the first four innings and had faced the minimum.

The Hoosiers tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth in support of Olson. Saucedo stepped up with two outs and drilled a ball into the right center field gap for her first career triple, scoring two runs and giving Indiana a 3-0 lead. The two-RBI game for Saucedo is her second of the season, the first coming Feb. 19, 2010, against Boise State.

Olson started the fifth inning with her fifth strikeout and a line out to third base before a solo home run from Hope Creasy wiped out the no-hitter and the shutout.

After Berenter lifted a high drive to left field that just cleared the fence to get back the run the Highlanders had scored in the bottom of the previous inning, the Hoosiers took a 4-1 lead to the bottom of the sixth. It is the second consecutive multi-hit game for Berenter and the third in four games.

In the sixth, Olson retired the first two batters with ease before an infield single extended the inning. Nichole Beall followed with a home run to bring Radford to within a run, 4-3. A double and a fielding error followed to tie the score at 4-4 and freshman Jessica Dobson was brough in to replace Olson with the go-ahead run at second base. Dobson surrendered a double and a single to allow two runs to score and all of a sudden the Highlanders were ahead, 6-4.

The Hoosiers, as they have all season, battled to the very end and even brought the go-ahed run to the plate in the top of the seventh. Senior Jennifer Glueckert started the inning with a single and Samantha Heyman later followed with a one-out single to put two on for Saucedo. The freshman popped up to second base for the second out of the inning and sophomore Bridget Langan stepped in to pinch hit. Langan worked the count to 2-2 before hitting a sharp ground ball to second base that was fielded for the third out of the inning.

Olson (3-6) pitched 5.2 innings and gave up just four hits and five runs, but only one run was earned. She did not walk a batter and struck out five. Dobson allowed two hits and one run in one-third of an inning.

Chelsea Kelley (5-3) picked up the win in relief for Radford, surrendering one run on four hits in three innings of work.
