Dotson Collects Three RBI in Loss at No. 19 Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb. - Indiana got on the board first, but the Nebraska bats responded and handed the Hoosiers a 8-3 loss in the regular season finale for both teams. Kelsey Dotsonwent 3-for-3 with three RBI in the game, while Brianna Meyer reached base for the 24th consecutive contest this season.
The Hoosiers opened the scoring in the second inning after CaraMia Tsirigos drew a leadoff walk. Alyssa Rosati came on to run and moved to second on a sac bunt by Jenna Abraham. Shelby Gogrevewas hit by a pitch to put a pair of runners on, and then both runners promptly stole a base to get into scoring position for Dotson. She lined a single down the right field line to score both runs easily and put Indiana ahead, 2-0.
Nebraska responded with five runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the 5-2 lead. They added two runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth to take the 8-2 edge.
In the top of the seventh inning, Jenna Abrahamstarted things with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch and to third on a ground out. Dotson followed with an infield single to drive in Abraham and cut into the Huskers lead.
Lora Olson (8-17) went 3.0 innings and allowed five runs on six hits and two strikeouts to take the loss. Brooke Boetjersurrendered three runs (one earned) on three hits over three innings of relief.
Indiana will travel to Evanston, Ill., next week for the Big Ten Tournament starting on Thursday. Game time and opponent will be determined later on Sunday.
