    HOOSIERS SPLIT WITH GEORGIA TECH

    ATLANTA - Indiana split a softball doubleheader with Georgia Tech Wednesday, losing 10-3 and winning 7-5.

    A six-run fourth brought the Hoosiers from a 2-0 deficit to the victory in the second game.

    heather Suca led off the inning with a double and took third on Stormy Hanson's single. Jessica Carriger singled home Suca, and Teresa Martinez walked to load the bases. Monica Zahasky singled home a run and Trisha Boyd drew a bases-loaded walk. Staci Meek's two-run single and an ensuing error completed the inning.

    In the opener, Carriger's two-run homer in the top of the second gave Indiana a 2-1 lead, but Tech bounced back with a six-run fourth of its own. Hanson finished with three hits and two runs for IU.

    Indiana is now 5-13 on the season and travels to Evansville for a 5 p.m. game, Friday, March 17.
