HOOSIERS START SEASON WITH TOUGH LOSES

Tuscaloosa, Alabama -- The Indiana Softball team started the season with tough a tough to Drake in the first game of the Bama Bash Friday at Bowers Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. IU received its offense on a two run homer by sophomore third baseman Erica Del Toro.

The Hoosiers played their second game against Pittsburgh, falling 6-4. The Panthers jumped out to an early 5-1 lead after two innings and never let IU back in the game.

The Hoosiers tried to get some offense going in the third as freshman catcher Brooke Monroe hit a solo home run and senior Khara Good tripled. The Hoosiers 11 hits shows that the offense is a powerful part of the Hoosiers improvement this year.

Next Game: The Hoosiers play Southern Mississippi Saturday at Noon (EST) at Bowers Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Hoosiers will also play an opponent to be determined Saturday at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Bama Bash playoffs.
