    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After going 1-3 at last weekend's Holiday Inn-Select Tulsa Festival, the Hoosiers head to Bowling Green, Ky., to play in the Western Kentucky Invitational from March 4-6.

    THE WESTERN KENTUCKY INVITATIONAL
    IU will open the weekend with a two-team doubleheader on Friday, March 4. At noon, Indiana will face Buffalo. The Hoosiers will then square off against Western Kentucky at 2 p.m. On Saturday, March 5, the Cream and Crimson play Austin Peay at 9 a.m., and Tennessee-Martin at 1 p.m. Bracket play will then take place on Sunday.

    RICHARDS HOT AT THE PLATE
    Sophomore Kim Richards continued her hot hitting with a 5-for-12 effort (.417) at the Holiday Inn-Select Tulsa Festival. In the past eight games, Richards has nine hits in her last 24 at-bats (.375) ,with two RBI, five runs scored and three doubles. She is also a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base.

    p>HOHS SNAPS SLUMP
    Heather Hohs ended a 2-for-24 season-opening slump at the Holiday Inn-Select Tulsa Festival. After sitting out the tournament's first game against Drake, Hohs started the last three games, batting .625 (5-for-8) with two runs scored.

    BETTENBROCK CRANKS FIRST HOME RUN
    Freshman Kari Bettenbrock hit her first collegiate home run against Tulsa on Feb. 26. She launched the 3-1 pitch right down the left-field line, tying the game at 2-2 with the two-run bomb.
