Following a 2-1 weekend at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by the University of Georgia, the Indiana Hoosiers stand at 10-8 on the season to continue the best start since the 1997 season. The Hoosiers defeated Chattanooga in the opener in Athens, 2-0, to put a halt to the Lady Mocs 11-game win streak. They then suffered a 2-0 loss to No. 1 Georgia despite allowing just three hits to the Bulldogs. After all of Saturday's action was rained out, Indiana returned to the field Sunday to down James Madison by a 5-1 margin. Morgan Melloh had 11 strikeouts in the contest and Sara Olson laced her third home run of the year in the win over the Dukes.

This weekend will be the first time that Indiana has played Oklahoma since they opened the 2006 season in Norman, Okla., and went 0-1-1 against the then-10th ranked Sooners.

Senior pitcher Morgan Melloh has started her Indiana career just as she did her Fresno State career - by being a workhorse in the circle and registering strikeout after strikeout. She has 11 complete games to her credit and 100 innings pitched to go with a Big Ten-best 144 strikeouts. She has six games with 10+ strikeouts, led by a 14-strikeout effort against No. 4 Florida in Palm Springs earlier this year. She followed that up with 11 strikeouts against No. 14 California the next day.

Melloh's career total of 1282 strikeouts puts her in 17th place on the NCAA career strikeout list.

Senior Sara Olson has a 2-0 record in the circle this year and also leads the team with a .340 batting average, three home runs, four doubles and 12 RBI. Her six multi-hit games are second on the team and she is hitting .471 with runners in scoring position. She has 20 career home runs to put her in a tie for ninth on the Indiana career home runs list.

Freshman Ashley Warrum had just four at-bats, all in pinch-hitting situations, as the Hoosiers arrived in Palm Springs the last weekend in February. She was inserted into the starting lineup five games ago and has at least one hit in each game and three multi-hit games. She had a pair of hits against Cal State Fullerton and then came back with three hits against Loyola Marymount in the tournament finale, including her first career triple. Last weekend at the Bulldog Invitational, Warrum was 4-for-10 with a double and RBI to continue her torrid start to her collegiate career.

Freshman outfielder Jenna Abraham collected her first collegiate base hit in style at the Kajikawa Classic, drivinga 3-2 pitch the opposite way over the right field fence for a three-run home run to break open a close game against Cal Poly. The Fishers, Ind., native finished the weekend hitting .333 with four hits and two runs scored.

Another freshman, Meaghan Murphy, made her first hit count as well with a two-run single down the first base line against Nevada. The fourth freshman, Ashley Warrum collected her first collegiate hit against Cal State Fullerton with a single to left field.
