Bloomington, Ind. - It was announced today that senior catcher Stormy Hanson and freshman designated player Lauren Hines were named to the all-tournament team at the Charleston Southern Invitational, which was played in Summerville, S.C., this past weekend. Indiana (6-8), who is under the direction of first-year head coach Sara Hayes, compiled a 2-2 record at the two-day tournament, as rain cancelled the first day of play.

On the weekend, the Hoosiers defeated Stony Brook, 2-1 (8 inn.), and Canisius, 5-2, while suffering losses to Furman, 3-0, and Central Florida, 4-1. The University of North Carolina-Greensboro won the 12-team tournament, defeating Central Florida in the championship game. Furman finished third.

In four games at the Charleston Southern Invitational, Hanson recorded six hits in 12 official at-bats, while recording three doubles, one walk, an RBI, and four stolen bases. Indiana was also impressive in the cirle on the South Carolina swing as pitchers Katie Witham, Heather Stillians, and Megan Roark surrendered only 20 hits in 27 innings pitched, while striking out 23 batters and allowing only one walk.

The Hoosiers are scheduled to make their Bloomington debut this Saturday at the IU Softball Field during a doubleheader vs. Eastern Michigan. The first pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. EST.
