    HOOSIERS SPLIT ON DAY ONE OF UT TOURNEY

    Knoxville, Tennessee -- The Indiana Softball team (2-5) split its first two games at the University of Tennessee Tournament Friday in Knoxville, Tennessee.

    IU senior Khara Good led the team with a double, a triple, and an RBI in a 6-2 loss to Drake (12-6). Sophomore Erica Del Toro and senior Jaime Thedford also had two hits each. The team's 10 hits was the second highest for IU this season.

    Hoosier sophomore Jennifer Smith fell to 0-3 after giving up five runs in the first two innings.

    The Hoosiers won for the second time in 1999 with an 8-1 victory over Wright State (3-2). Good had her second multi hit game of the day. She also scored twice and stole a base.

    The Hoosiers offense was spread throughout in the Wright State contest. Six Hoosiers accounted for the seven hits and seven players crossed the plate. On the mound, freshman Alison Cooke (1-1) recorded her first win of the year and did not give up an earned run in six innings of work.
