    LONG BEACH, Calif. - Indiana ended the Long Beach Invitational with a 5-0 loss to No. 25 Long Beach State on Sunday morning at Mayfair Park. With the outcome, Indiana fell to 6-17 on the year while the 49er's improved to 15-8 on the season.

    Indiana fell behind right from the start as The Beach used a two-run home run in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. LBSU would then score two in the second and once in the third to 5-0 advantage.

    Junior Megan Roark started the contest, but did not have her best stuff. The right-hander went 3 1/3 innings giving up five runs, three earned, on seven hits. She also struck out four and walked two. Senior Katie Witham finished the game with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit.

    Marcel Torres (7-5) got the win for the 49er's. She threw the complete-game shutout scattering just three hits. She also struck out nine and walked none.

    The Cream and Crimson will stay on the west coast for two more games. On Tuesday March 15, the Hoosiers will play No. 6 Oklahoma at 1 p.m. (PST) at Long Beach City College. IU will conclude its west coast swing on Wednesday, March 16, with a 1:30 p.m. (PST) contest at Cal-State Northridge.
