    Hoosiers split Softball double dip

Bloomington, IN--Indiana's offense struggled today as they split a pair of games at home against another top 20 opponent. The DePaul Blue Demons' pitching was stellar all day, holding the Hoosiers to just two runs in both contests.

In game one, the lone run was enough as sophomore hurler Teresa Martinez pitched a gem. The Hoosiers threw a complete game five hit shut out in earning her 3rd win of the season. Jennifer Pullon led the way offensively for the Hoosiers, collecting one of the teams three hits and driving in the only run of the ball game.

DePaul's bats came to life in the second game. The Blue Demons' scored five runs in the top of the 2nd inning and never looked back as they cruised past Indiana, 7-1. The Hoosiers lone run of the game came in the first inning when Pullon singled home Khara Good. Jennifer Kniptash was handed the loss, pitching six innings while giving up 7 hits and all 7 runs. Martinez pitched on inning of relief, giving up one hit and one walk.

The Hoosiers are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they face Butler in a doubleheader. Gametime is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Indiana Softball Field.
