BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Hoosiers (9-19, 0-2) dropped two games to No. 13 Michigan (24-6, 2-0) in a double-header Friday afternoon at IU Softball Field. Michigan shutout Indiana 1-0 in game one and then rallied in the seventh inning of game two to win 3-2.

In game one, senior Monica Zahasky went 1-for-2 with the only base hit for the Hoosiers. Senior pitcher Teresa Martinez allowed Michigan only one run, but dropped to 3-10 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten.

The Hoosier took an early lead when senior Sheri Savko hit a homerun to begin the first inning. Michigan then scored one run in the bottom of the fourth when Christine Garza doubled scoring Kim Bugel. In the fifth, Sheri Savko singled to the pitcher scoring Lisa Mattke from third. In the seventh, the Wolverines rallied to score two runs off a double by Melissa Taylor and a single by Marissa Young.

"I think our defense is settling in and our pitcher have been throwing outstanding," said head coach Diane Stephenson. "We're going to come through for all of us. We need to get a couple breaks, but you know what, you make your own breaks. It going to come for us. We're going to be where we want to be in May and that's in the Big Ten tournament."

The Hoosiers will be back in action tomorrow, April 1, as they host a single game versus Michigan State at 1:00 p.m. at the IU Softball Field.
